My first game for the Atari 2600 just dropped

game

Damn, this platform is limited. As I did my research for games on the platform, I realized most games don't have a title screen. I also realized most games don't even have a game over screen. The way games were made in that day and age is that there was just game. Attract mode before you started. Then attract mode after it was game over. So everything was just game. But I wanted a title screen. And I wanted a game over screen. I eventually gave up on the game over screen when I found I could just have a little pause after game over, then show the highest score on the title screen, and it would still feel good.

Fish Walk

Fish Walk title screen - press fire to start

In Fish Walk you are a fisherman trying to get as many points as possible (or as many rare fish as possible, if you will). The rarest fish are at the deepest part of the lake, give the most points, but they're also the hardest to catch.

Fish Walk gameplay

The fishing mechanic in Seven Deadly Sins Origin is where I got my inspiration for the fishing mechanic. The way it works is that once you get a fish on the hook you need to press the button in the correct pace to stay in the green part of the bar. The more rare the fish, the smaller the bar, and the harder it is to stay in the green area. If you stay in the red area too long you lose the lure and the fish. You have 3 lures before the game is over. How many points can you get?
